Gemeinsam mit A1 Telekom GmbH wurde heuer ein weiterer Meilenstein in Sachen Ausfallsicherheit umgesetzt. Unsere bisher schon redundante Strecke zwischen Klagenfurt und Wien wurde von einer neuen, völlig Trassen redundanten Backupstrecke abgelöst und auf 10G gehoben. Somit ist im Falle einer Störung garantiert, dass unsere Kunden ihre benötigten Bandbreiten unterbrechungsfrei nutzen können.

Welche Geschwindigkeiten werden benötigt?

Damit Sie in den vollen Genuss Ihrer gebuchten Geschwindigkeit kommen können, ist es wichtig, dass Sie die benötigte Datenmenge kennen.

So benötigen Sie als Single beispielsweise weniger, als es ein Haushalt mit mehreren Personen tut. Für den Bereich „Surfen und E-Mails“ benötigt eine Person etwa 10 Mbit/s, ein Paar 16 Mbit/s und eine Familie oder eine Wohngemeinschaft etwa 25 Mbit/s. Im Bereich Filme und Serien verhält es sich ähnlich. Die Filme werden inzwischen immer häufiger in Ultra-HD (4K) übertragen. Hier benötigt ein Single bereits 25 Mbit/s, ein Paar 50 Mbit/s und eine Familie oder WG 100 Mbit/s.

Noch höher wird der Bedarf in der Kategorie Gaming oder auch für Blockbuster-Titel mit umfangreichen Updates. Hier beginnt der Bedarf für einen Single bei 50 Mbit/s. Ein Paar benötigt etwa 100 Mbit/s und die Familie oder WG 200 Mbit/s. Grafiker oder Filmemacher, YouTuber und Streamer haben im Homeoffice einen noch höheren Bedarf. So beginnt es hier bei einem Single bei etwa 200 Mbits, bei einem Paar bei 400 Mbit/s und bei einer Familie oder WG bei 500 Mbit/s. Wenn Sie Ihren Bedarf ermitteln konnten, fällt Ihnen die Suche nach dem passenden Tarifangebot leichter.

Bei den Angeboten rund um DSL gibt es bereits solide Geschwindigkeitsübertragungen. Allerdings kann es bei diesem Modell zu Beeinträchtigungen in der Übertragung kommen, wenn mehr Menschen zeitgleich im Internet aktiv sind.

Zudem kommt es in Gebieten zu Problemen, wo der Internetanschluss weiter vom Verteilerkasten weg ist. Hier fallen dann unnötige Datenverluste an. Leider kommt es immer wieder vor, dass Sie eine Geschwindigkeit buchen. Der Anbieter kann Ihnen diese aber bei DSL nicht immer vollständig zur Verfügung stellen. Aus diesem Grund bieten wir Ihnen unsere attraktiven Tarife für Glasfaser an. Unser Wunsch ist es, dass Sie und wir zufrieden sind. Deswegen setzen wir auf die verlustfreie Übertragung durch die Glasfaser. Sollten Sie der Eigentümer einer Immobilie sein, empfehlen wir Ihnen die Investition in einen Glasfaserhausanschluss. Insbesondere bei Neubauten ist diese Entscheidung zukunftsweisend. Mit DSL bekommen Sie zwar Internet, aber die Glasfaser überzeugt durch die Übertragung ohne Datenverlust.

Generell sollten Sie Ihren Bedarf gut prüfen. Herkömmliche DSL-Leitungen ermöglichen eine Datenübertragung von etwa 5 Mbit/s. Zum Streamen von Filmen, insbesondere in 4K, ist das zu wenig. In der heutigen Zeit sollten Sie eine weitaus höhere Übertragung gewährleisten. 300 Mbits sind ein solider Durchschnittswert. Die Cloud und das Geduldsspiel – vorbei mit Glasfaser

Als die DSL-Anschlüsse im Kommen waren, gab es noch nicht den hohen Bedarf an Clouds. Inzwischen sind diese aber zur Selbstverständlichkeit geworden. Versuchen Sie, wichtige Daten in der Cloud zu speichern und Sie setzen auf DSL, dann benötigen Sie Geduld. Wichtig ist hier der Upstream. Bei DSL liegt diese bei etwa 1 MBit. Bis zu 40 MBit erhalten Sie bei VDSL mit Vectoring. Die Glasfaser überzeugt auch hier mit 50 bis 200 MBit.

Datenmengen von einem GB sind mit der neuen Technologie dann weniger nervenaufreibend. Sie können beispielsweise zeitgleich etwas in der Cloud speichern und Ihre Familie einen Film streamen.
